Hostel description:

Relaxed friendly atmosphere, clean, quiet. Towels provided. Well equipped kitchen, large dining room overlooking harbour, gorgeous backyard, barbecue area. TV room, reading/ writing room. Laundry, lockers, free storage room. Mail kept, fax, email, internet. FEMALE DORMS, male dorms, twin rooms, double rooms. 5mins walk Parnell shopping, restaurants, indoor and outdoor pools, waterfront.

Location:

Our hostel is convienently placed outside the city centre and takes about 20-25 mins to walk from the corner of Queen street and Customs street.

Rooms:

We offer two types of room at Alans these being dormatories of different sizes and double rooms. Unfortunately, no single rooms are available. If you are occupying a double room on your own, you will pay for 2 people staying in that room.

Services:

We have a wide range of facilities from a laundry to T.V. room and spacious garden. Our office hours are 7:00 am to 9:30 pm in the evenings.

We boast good kitchen facilities here at Alans. We have 3 hobs, 2 ovens a freezer and walk in fridge which the staff got lost in for 3 days. We also have a good number of wash basins and plenty of dry tea towles as we know how much you guys enjoy doing your washing up.

Well What can we say about our dining room ? its large, and its a cool place to sit and have your meal. With panoramic views of the garden, numerous food machines to keep even the most demanding of chocoholics happy and a keyboard for anybody wishing to provide entertainment for the happy diners.

For those of you who dont like to enjoy the splendor of Aucklands summer and prefer to stay dry we have a good sized T.V. lounge. Fitted out with loads of comfy sofas and a book exchange at the rear and our T.V. at the front (with video in office), you\'ll never be short of anything to do.

Quite a number of people ask us about parking at Alans. When people bring their vehicles, there is a good amount of space available on the roadside next to the hostel and we have had no reports of problems in terms of security. We do however encourage you to use your common sense when parking your vehicle and leave no valuables out on display such as $100 bills etc.
